Medical Play With a Wooden Toy MRI

When beginning a family there are many expectations. Playing "house" with them or going on a big imaginary "fishing" or "hunting trip". For most families they can have those dreams come true, but other families face many other challenges that they never dreamt of. The play that their children do is playing in the "medical word" as that is the world that they know.

In today's medical technologies there are many things that can be learned from a CT/scan or an MRI. These machines can look scary to a child, but when they have someone demonstrate on a small wooden toy MRI using a doll, puppet or stuffed animal it helps to calm some of those fears.

One wooden toy MRI is a large scale version that the bed fully extends out of the machine and is large enough for a regular size doll. This is great for children at home who play hospital and makes them feel great as they are the ones that are in control ordering all the tests to be done on their "patient."

The other model can be used for home play as well but really caters to the hospitals to help educate the little ones. This model fully extends also but is made for a smaller doll, Barbie Doll, stuffed animal or even a small puppet. It has a handle on top which makes it easy to carry to the child's bedside and is small enough to fit on a shelf.

Either model is wonderful for children who have medical testing done continuously or for the very first time. Casting out fear in a child going under medical stress can't be measured in terms of silver or gold, but comes from a hug or smile in helping the child go through what could be a scary process.
