Why We Love Dress Up Girls

There are a huge number of games and activities online that we love. But easily one of the best of these are the dress up girls. A digital form of Barbie dolls, the dress up girls are fashionable and fun to play, but that is not the only reason we love them so.

Dress Up Girls Are Creative

There are only so many activities online that you can legitimately claim as creative. Dress up girls fall into this category easily. To play the games you will select a doll base that often looks a great deal like a Barbie doll and then start selecting fashions for her online. This gives you endless choices and variety about how to piece together her different looks. The fun never ends because there are truly no limits to how many different outfits you can create. Piece one together and save it. Then pull another one together and send it to a friend. Endless. Really.

Dress Up Girls Make For Good Conversation

If you and your friends are looking for something to work on together, dress up games are exactly what you need. To play together, you can actually sit down together at a computer and dress a doll or you can be at different corners of the world ready to challenge each other to a design contest. To make the dolls, you can choose a certain game and both "players" make a particular sort of outfit or design. After a set time limit, share your creation with the friend and enjoy the experience. You might discover the secret or talent of your friend in designing things like this. It is definitely an adventure.

Dress Up Girls Have Plenty of Variety

If there was ever a game with variety, dress up girls are it. The games range from dressing up babies and little girls to dressing up celebrities with literally everything in between. In a single afternoon, you can dress up elves, you can dress up fairies, you can dress up pixies, dwarfs, witches, princesses and fairy godmothers. You can also have a typical looking girl where you can practice fashion ideas that might actually work on your own clothing style and body type.

Dress Up Girls Help You Be Fashionable

The nicest thing about dress up girls is how much you can benefit from playing them in a fashion sense. To a certain extent, you can plan your wardrobe and even plan your fashions for the next seasons by playing the games. Pick a doll that looks a lot like you. Then look through all of the current, fashionable items that you can use to create a new look. Pull together outfits that you really like and you will be pleasantly surprised at how much you can do and plan and see working in this way in regard to finding out what really works for you and what does not.

Say I Do With Wedding Dress Up Games

When I was a little girl, every time a saw a bride and a groom ramping in the red carpet of the church, I can not help myself to ask if when will I ever have the man of of my life or when will I wear a white glamorous gown. I always observe that a bride looks blooming on her special day. Some people say it is because that all brides have really prepared for this occasion. They really have her beauty rest. They hired the best make up artist. They were able to choose and bought the best white gown. White beautiful gown, that fits perfectly to her body. With all great and long time preparation, I believe their never been an ugly bride. Wedding indeed is really their special moment. They are the apple of the eye. No other could turn down their beauty and poise. For in that occasion their look is outstanding and almost perfectly beautiful.

The Preparation

In Preparation I know they have undergone difficulty also. They spend a lot of time planning invitation, guest, reception, food, cakes, materials, souvenirs, dress up and a lot more. Therefore getting married is not easy. If you want to make everything memorable, you should prepare almost everything ahead of time. The success of the wedding depends on how the couple have planned and prepared everything on their wedding. If they do not have their wedding planner the two of them almost do all the work. For me even wedding planning is complicated and so hard, the couples should be happy, because through planning the two of them have gain more memorable times together as a couple. They have the chance to get to know more each others like and dislikes. Preparation is really fruitful after all. Everything that happens in life is not a waste. All that happens to us even the simple detail we never have noticed sometimes contribute to our whole being and living.

Theme and Color

In a wedding their should also be a theme and so called motif. You have to choose if you want a garden wedding, beach wedding, jungle wedding, church wedding and other options that you and your partner desire to. Every theme has a color or motif. You have to choose the color of your sponsors, materials, decoration or designs. Designs that includes also the flowers or bouquet, reception background, back draft, greeting, invitation, tables and almost all wedding materials and details. For example if you want beach wedding mostly the color of choice is natural color like, blue, green, white and yellow. The theme really sometimes is important, it really depends to the couple if what color they wanted. The Color and Theme really affect a wedding. A specific theme add color. It could make a wedding romantic, sentimental, colorful, memorable and beautiful. It also may or may not influence the whole wedding. One thing is for sure theme and color show a different taste to the ceremony and the whole matrimony.

Wedding or Matrimony

The wedding happens because of two people, truly, madly and deeply in love with each other. They make the ceremony complete. There love for each other will make the ceremony sacred. It is really good to see two people become one in this sacrament of matrimony. It is touching to hear their vow of everlasting love for each other. Their promise of being their for one another, for richer or poorer, in sickness or in health, till death they part. Wedding is the start of living happily ever after despite the problems that will come to test the lovers undying vow. Love is really great. They say there are three things that last in this world, faith, hope and love and the greatest, is love.

Wedding Dress Up Games

Online Dress Up Games have also touch the world of matrimony. They also want to give new life for little kids and teens who are dreaming of being in a white gown and get married. In online dress up games they have a lot of different wedding dress up gowns, veils, shoes, hair make over, shoes, accessories and make up. On line wedding dress up also have stories, play and theme to choose from. They have that wide variety of items in great designs. The gowns and accessories are also high in level, new and upgraded. Playing dress up is easy. In just a matter of time, you will create your own wedding doll, a beautiful bride and handsome groom ready for wedding celebration. In Dress Up Games, everything is easy. For young teens and children, through play they are able to meet their dream and imagination. Dress Up becomes a key to the door of the future. To teens and children it takes a long time before they got married and wear a gown. So dress up games help children to somehow make their dreams come true.

Barbie Dolls - Over 50 Years of History and Still Going Strong

The one thing that every little girl plays with for hours on end is a Barbie doll. Just think, that when it was first thought of Mattel did not want to manufacture it! It turns out that the decision to invest in Barbie was a wise one since it is now a globally known icon with all children.

Barbie has came a long way since it was designed in 1959 by Ruth Handler. Handler first saw the need for an adult doll that would allow girls to play with and dream of how it would be when they were adults. The only option at this time was to play with paper dolls. The first time that Handler took her product to the Mattel Corporation, that she was a co-founder of, she was turned down. The committee felt that it would not appeal to children and would end up costing them more to produce than they would possibly make a profit off. Barbie was modeled after a doll that Handler had brought from Europe, called Lillie. After which, Mattel finally agreed to back her efforts. Then later that year, Barbie was introduced to the world in New York City at the American Toy Fair.

The buyer's of the industry were not impressed with Barbie. However, the little girls went wild over the doll! Within the first year Mattel set a new sales record. It took several years for the supply of Barbie to meet with the demand of the dolls, since every little girl wanted Barbie and all her clothes and accessories.

Over the years Barbie has went through quite a few changes. Her appearance has been the cause of many complaints and even lawsuits. In 1971, Barbie's eyes were changed from the narrow, sideways look as they were designed with to give a look of allure. She was given the round, looking forward eyes that she still has today. Most notable, in 1997, Barbie was given new dimensions, since people worried that Barbie sent an unrealistic body image message to girls with her body measurements. After going through countless lawsuits against Mattel, they decided to take the measures and change Barbie's body.

The last 50 years Barbie has escalated to much more than a doll. Barbie is a trademark icon that all little girls have. There are books, games, movies and countless accessories that are all contributed to Barbie. There are dolls that are cousins and sisters to Barbie, making up the entire Barbie family, complete with a pink car and dream house. Barbie has managed to keep up with all the latest fashion trends and has inspired the imaginations of little girls all around the world. Barbie reinforced the idea that girls can grow up to be whatever they want with Barbie's of all sorts of occupations, such as veterinarian, scuba diving Barbie, or even Nascar driving Barbie.

Despite there being more and more competitors that are trying to imitate Barbie, there is still only one, true doll that can call itself Barbie.

Collectible Barbie Dolls from Mattel

Did you realize that Barbie dolls are not just the favourite toy of little girls? Mattel estimates that there are over 100,000 adult collectors of Barbie dolls. Ninety percent of these collectors are women who are, on average around the age 40, and purchase at least 20 Barbie dolls a year. Almost half of Barbie collectors each spend over $1000 a year.

Mattel in recent years has been catering to this niche market. They have produced a range of collectible Barbie dolls with the aim of encouraging collectors to increase their collections in line with their individual tastes and interests. Barbie dolls of popular TV shows and movies, celebrities and popular singers, for example, have been produced with collectors in mind.

In 2004 Mattel introduced a colour tier system to help categorize collectible Barbie dolls and help collectors to find them. The colours signify the amount of dolls produced worldwide and indicate the rarity factor of the different dolls. The colour also indicates which kind of retail store stocks the particular type of collectible doll.

There are four colours in the collectible tier system, and this article gives the characteristics of each tier.

The first tier is the Pink Label collectible dolls. There is no limit on the quantity of dolls produced with the Pink Label. Pink Label Barbies include 'The Dolls of the World' series, 'Festivals of the World', 'Model Barbie', as well as some of the 'Pop Culture' dolls. Most dolls in the Pink Label are Barbie dolls , but there are also a few of Kelly doll as well. The Pink Label packaging is distinctive; the is box trimmed in pink, and has a clear front.

The next tier is the Silver Label dolls. The packaging is similar to the Pink Label, but with the box trimmed with silver. The criteria for the Silver Label tier is that no more than 50,000 of any Silver Label doll will be produced world wide. Included in the Silver Label are the 'Wedding' series, the 'Birthday Barbies', 'Ballet Barbies' and 'I Dream of a Season' dolls. Some types of Kelly doll and Tommy doll also can be found under the Silver Label.

Following the Silver is the Gold Label collectible dolls. Gold Label dolls are produced in quantities of no more than 25,000 of each doll. The packaging is different from the previous tiers. Silver Label dolls come in a "cake box" type package with an extra see through layer to protect the doll. The box has artwork and photography on the back and lid with gold decorative trimming. Included under the Gold Label are 'Designer Fashion Model' dolls, 'Designer Bride', Vintage Repros' and 'Pin-up Girls' collectible dolls.

The top tier is the Platinum Label dolls. These dolls are produced in editions of less than 1,000, and also include one-of-a-kind-dolls that are available at special events, or are exclusive to one retail store only. An example of a Platinum Label collectible doll is the 'White Chocolate Obsession(TM) Barbie® Doll!' The doll's hair has the scent of white chocolate. Other dolls include the 'Faerie Queen', Badgley Mischka Bride Barbie, and the exclusive 'The Nurse' Barbie doll designed by Robert Best.

Collectors avidly collect these tier Label dolls, and are rewarded by the exquisite attention to details in the clothes and accessories of each specially designed Barbie. To retain the value of these dolls they should be kept in the box as new. This is unfortunate, as they need to be touched to really appreciate the intricate details of the gown and dolls features. Should dolls like this be played with? A good question and maybe a topic for another article!

Building the Father-Daughter Relationship

The increasing trend of women becoming bread winners and the shift in the way people work (telecommuting, less work-day per week, etc.) has resulted in more fathers becoming "stay-at-home-Dads." This development suddenly puts the term "parenting" on the menu of these otherwise absentee parents-the bumbling, inefficient, clueless Dads (at least, that's how the media constantly portrays us.)

I provide for my family, ergo I'm a good Dad...

It's natural human tendency to model our behavior upon what we see around us. Thus naturally, as men, we learn a lot from observing our own fathers. In the yester years, it was the father who went out to work. The roles of teacher, care-giver, nurse, and friend fell squarely on mummy's shoulder. All daddies had to do was provide the check at the end of the month.

It was also common for dads to be closer to their boys as they easily identified with them. Also, there was a belief that they needed to be there for their sons to serve as a good "role model." Who else would teach them how to kick a soccer ball properly or fix the leaking faucet? The girls? Mom can definitely see to them. After all, what do we dad's know about Barbie dolls and dress up parties.

Unfortunately, such myopic misconceptions hold till today. And if you continue down this path, before you know it, your baby girl would be all grown up, without you ever really knowing her. Don't be surprised when on her wedding day, you are hit by this sudden realisation that you didn't really have much of a relationship with the beautiful lady you're walking down the aisle with. And at that point, trust me, neither your money nor your gifts can ever compensate for the time and moments you never had with your precious princess.

Experience is the best teacher, but if you don't have it...

As if parenting itself is not overwhelming enough, having to deal with little girls who are made of "sugar and spice and everything nice," can be nothing short of daunting. Unlike mothers, who have their own past to relate to, we men find it difficult to understand what goes on inside these seemingly fragile and beautiful beings. Come to think of it, we still don't understand them several decades later, when they're wearing make-up, high heels (wink-wink) and bossing us around.

How do we relate to Mary Poppins "tea parties," vain little Barbie dolls, fussy pink ribbons, and a lot of other girlie-thingies that we don't even know how to start describing? One would wish they could be as easy as little boys-our little boys are like fish in the water with things we already like: football, tussles, baseball, bikes, basketball, rough plays, soccer, and more rough tussles.

But girls....they can be very sweet one second and, in a bat of an eyelash, they can start screaming like all hell's breaking loose. And you stand there helpless. You start soul-searching. Am I that bumbling, incompetent parent? Am I too lax? Or am I too strict and rigid. What should I be teaching them? These insecurities and our misconceptions give us more reason to limit our participation in our little girl's upbringing.

While we, fathers, could never take the place of Mom, we play an entirely different role in our little girls' lives. Studies have shown that girls whose fathers play an active role in their upbringing have a certain confidence that is lacking in those who do not have an involved father. It is believed that girls who don't have this type of father in the family are more likely to be constantly looking for male approval. These interesting studies suggest that girls who did not enjoy love and support from their fathers tend to seek out other males to replace this experience they didn't have with their fathers.

We don't have to try to learn what to teach our daughters, we just have to be there for them. And that makes all the difference in the world.

But girls are fragile like porcelain...

While it's easy to presume that our daughters are fragile like a porcelain vase, trust me, she is not. I believe this misconception is what deters most fathers from being close to their daughters. Playtime, is one of the best (if not the best) way of nurturing a close relationship with our children. We could just play enough Chinese checkers or Monopoly with our girls. The more we take them as fragile (could be translated to "weak"), the more they tend to miss out on a lot of things.

Teaching our little girls to be physically active, playfully chasing them around, play catch-even basketball or football-could inculcate in them the spirit of athleticism. Instead of making them focus on how their bodies look, cultivating love for physical activity would make them focus on what their bodies could do.

This love for active physicality is one of the most important gifts we fathers can give our daughters. We all know that boys and girls who are into sports are less prone to destructive vices like alcohol, smoking, and drugs. Girls who are more physically active start young, with their Dads playing with them.

Daughters are God's gift to Dads

Daughters are not the only ones who benefit from a positive father-daughter relationship. Notice how you tend to calm and mellow down when you are around your baby girl? As for me, nothing is lovelier than my daughter's smile. Nothing is more wonderful than hearing my little girl say to me, "I love you, Dad."
